These software tutorials are publications of the UF/IFAS Department of Entomology and Nematology. The tutorials were developed by graduate students in entomology and nematology, with assistance from university extension specialists, to enhance the training of personnel in various industries and for other interested persons. These tutorials are copyrighted by the University of Florida. Information, graphics and photographs within each tutorial may not be used without official permission.
These computer-verified tutorials are authorized by Florida for one (1) CEU each in the Core category listed for recertification of certified pesticide applicators. See the CEU Tutorials file for details.
NOTE: The labels included with each tutorial may not be the latest revision. However, the tutorials are not meant to sell the materials, but to train you and your employees how to read a label and do simple math. If you do use these material, be sure to obtain the last latest version of the label from the manufacturer. These tutorials will install under any Windows operating system. However, they will not work on the newer 64-bit systems.
Each program comes with complete details on how to file for the CEUs and where to send the Record of Attendance For Continuing Education Units form.
Each tutorial consists of 50 questions accompanied by text, graphics and photographs. Each tutorial can be completed within 50 to 60 minutes. A passing score of 90% is required to earn the CEU, but the tutorial may be retaken as often as necessary to achieve that score.
You will need a copy of the pesticide label for each tutorial to answer the questions asked. The label, in PDF format (using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader) is included with each tutorial. An image screen with each question displays that portion of the label containing the answer to the question.
Once the program is installed on your hard drive under the University of Florida Label Tutorials folder, double-click on the icon from the Programs menu to start the tutorial. Tutorial documentation and product label are provided as Adobe Acrobat PDF files. After entering the tutorial, click on the Info Text button to read, and print if desired, the instructions for using the program and earning CEUs.

Each question screen within the tutorial allows the student to access text (under an Info Text button) or graphics (under an Image button) necessary to answer the question.
Questions answered correctly provide the student with additional information usually not found on the label. The student is not quizzed on this additional information. Questions answered incorrectly provide the student with the correct answer, and often with additional information that helps the student understand the material better.
Simple instructions for using the tutorial and printing the results are provided under the Intro Text button of Questions 1 and 50. Instructions for printing the State of Florida "Attendance Form" are also given under the Intro Text buttons in Questions 1 and 50. (This form is available on the Buggy Software Web site under Florida Training and CEU Tutorials) Students can print these instructions off from within the tutorials. The tutorial can be used over and over again for instruction without requiring a student to print the results.
Only after students have answered all 50 questions are they prompted to enter their name into window screen. They can then proceed to access their tutorial results.
